Appointments | |
|
|
All consultations with doctors
and nurses are by appointment, with surgeries operating Monday to Friday from:
9:00am-10:30am, 11:30-12:30pm, 2:00pm-3:30pm and 4:30-5:30pm. |
|
|
Patients are registered with
the practice and not with an individual GP. You can make an appointment to see
any doctor you wish, though you may have to wait longer to see a specific
doctor. |

Understanding the
appointments system |
|
|
Doctor appointments are
separated into 'urgent', where you are
seen on the day, or 'routine' which are booked in advance. |
|
|
If you feel you need to speak
to, or see a doctor urgently the receptionist will take your contact details and
the 'duty' doctor will phone you to discuss your symptoms and make arrangements
to either give you a suitable urgent appointment for that day or alternatively
deal with your request over the phone. We have a selection of urgent
appointments throughout the day with various doctors and you may not always see
you usual doctor. |
|
|
Routine appointments can
usually be booked up to 6-8 weeks in advance. You can directly book your
appointment with the reception staff and choose your preferred doctor or nurse.
In some cases you may prefer to speak to your usual doctor over the phone. We
operate a daily telephone surgery for each doctor and the receptionist will make
arrangements for you usual doctor to return your call at some time later in the
day or the next day. |

Non-attendance |
|
|
On average, over 200
appointments are lost each month because patients fail to inform us that they
will not be attending. Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to
attend. |
