Acute
Prescriptions |
|
|
If you feel you
need a once-off (acute) prescription, you can give your details to the reception
staff. If the request is a medicine you have had in the past, your doctor may
issue you another course. If it is a medicine you have not taken in the past you
may be advised to speak to a doctor directly. The doctors do not routinely
prescribe antibiotics for children unless they have a face-to-face
consultation. |

repeat medication will receive a computerized printout with their prescription
for ordering future medication. Please ensure that you use this form whenever
possible as it makes it easier for us to manage your requests
promptly. |
|
|
Please order your
repeat prescription in plenty of time by ticking the items you require on the
order form and placing it in the reception box, handing over to the receptionist
or by posting it to the surgery. You can also request prescriptions using the
dedicated phone number 93343501. Please remember to include your name, date of
birth and a full description of the medications including the name of the
medication and dosage required. If you are requesting medication that has not
been prescribed by the surgery before then you must provide details alongside
your request. |

Private
prescriptions |
|
|
There are certain drugs that
cannot be issued as an NHS prescription. in this case your doctor will print a
private prescription. You are not charged by the surgery for this, but you will
have to pay the retail cost of the drug. Examples of this are the impotence
drugs, malarial tablets, some travel vaccines e.g. rabies, and Hepatitis B
vaccination. |
